Verses of the Floor – When Ballet Meets the Flowing Art of the Cello (2019 Creative Editing Work)
This was an adventure without a script. When the director handed me hundreds of fragmented clips, there were only two core visual elements: the arcs traced by a ballerina’s pointe and the vibrations of a cello’s bow.
I chose to make the “floor” the third protagonist—following the dancer’s shadow as it glided across the wood grain, capturing the pulse of light spots on the floor that resonated with the cello’s frequency. Slow-motion cuts emphasized the mechanical harmony between the pointe and the bow, while rapid montages shattered and reassembled the wooden textures in sync with the music’s crescendo. At the symphonic climax, the silhouettes of the dancer and musician merged on the floor, forging the metallic sheen of the brand’s logo.
This piece proved that when an editor becomes a "visual composer," storytelling transcends words—materials, rhythm, and negative space can craft a brand narrative that takes one’s breath away.
